Im Auftrag des Deutschen Tapeten-Instituts
entwickelte raumkontor diesen Messestand für die imm
Cologne 2016. Ziel war es, aufzuzeigen, wie sich mit Ta -
pe ten individuelle Räume gestalten lassen. Mit „Express
yourself“ gingen Andrea Weitz und Jens Wendland einen
Schritt weiter und kreierten unterschiedliche Wohn sze -
narien. Vier farbige, bühnenbildartige Raumszenen wirk-
ten wie ein Schnitt durch ein Haus. Die Kabinette offe-
rierten Einsichten in verschiedene private Lebens welten
– ein Mix aus Trash, aktuellem Möbel- und Produkt -
design, Skurrilem und Verschrobenem. In einer mehrtä-
gigen Performance wurden die räumlichen Sets sogar
bespielt. In Form einer schrägen WG agierten die
Akteure miteinander und mit dem Setmaterial.
Commissioned by the Deutsches Tapeten-Institut, raum-
kontor designed this exhibition stand for imm Cologne
2016. The aim was to show how wallpaper can be used
to design individual rooms. With Express yourself,
Andrea Weitz and Jens Wendland went one step further
and created various living scenarios. Four colourful,
stage-like spatial scenes looked like a cross section of a
house. The “cabinets” allowed insights into various pri-
vate living environments – a mixture of trash, current
furniture- and product design, the bizarre and the
eccentric. With a performance lasting several days, the
spatial sets even had action. As an odd flat-sharing
community, the players interacted with each other and 3
