Holländischer Schiffbau als Inspirationsquelle • Dutch shipbuilding as inspiration

I n Anlehnung an die traditionelle holländische Schifffahrt und die
Naturgesetze entstand der Freebooter Gebäudekomplex des jungen
Architekten Giacomo Garziano. Zusammen mit seinem Amsterdamer
Büro GG-loop übersetzte er durch einen Mantel aus Rotzedern- und
Kieferholz historische Komponenten des Schiffbaus in den biophilen
Entwurf. Die einzelnen Apartments des Komplexes sind durch organi-
sche Formen geprägt, die die fließenden Eigenschaften der Elemente
Luft und Wasser widerspiegeln. Im Inneren wurde ebenso wie bei der
Gebäudehülle auf natürliche Materialien gesetzt. Als Kontrast zum
hellen Holz an Wänden, Böden und Decken der umlaufenden Arbeits-
zimmer und geschwungenen Flure der Apartments wurde die Schal-
ter- und Steckdosenserie LS 990 von Jung in der Farbgebung Dark ver-
baut. Bestehend aus lackiertem Aluminium fügen diese sich harmo-
nisch in das Gesamtbild der Wohnungen ein. Seit 1986 überzeugt die
Kollektion als Klassiker unter den Flächenschaltern durch ihre ästhe-
tisch reduzierte Form. Über die Jahre wurde die Schalterserie konti-
nuierlich weiterentwickelt und bietet dabei vielfältige Ausstattungs-
möglichkeiten. Schalter und Steckdosen, Temperatursteuerung sowie
Smart-Home-Bedienelemente lassen sich problemlos mit dem Rah-
men der Linie LS 990 kombinieren. Zudem gibt es ihn in unterschied-
lichen Materialausführungen wie beispielsweise Kunststoff und lak-

I nspired by the traditional Dutch shipping and the laws of nature,
Harmonischer Mix: helles Holz kombiniert mit den Schaltern LS 990 von Jung.• Harmonious: light wood and LS 990 switches the young architect Giacomo Garciano designed the Freebooter
building complex. Together with his Amsterdam-based firm GG-loop,
he translated historical components of shipbuilding into the biophilic
design by using an envelope of red cedar and fine pine wood. The in-
dividual apartments of the complex are characterised by organic sha-
pes that reflect the fluid properties of the elements air and water. As
for the building envelope, some natural materials were used in the in-
terior. As a warm contrast to the light wood on the walls, floors and
ceilings of the study rooms and curved corridors of the apartments,
switches and sockets from the LS 990 series by Jung were installed in
the Dark variant. Made of lacquered aluminium, they harmoniously
blend into the overall interior design of the apartments. Since the year
1986, the whole collection has impressed as a classic among flat swit-
ches with its aesthetically reduced shape. Over all the years, the
switch series has been continuously advanced and now offers a very
wide range of some ueseful equipment options. Switches and sockets,
temperature control and smart home controls can be easily combined
