I nmitten einer ländlich geprägten Wohnsiedlung in der belgischen Re -
gion Flan dern liegt der neue Villenbau des Architekturbüros von
Dhoore Vanweert. Das zweigeschossige Wohnhaus präsentiert sich zur
Straße hin monolithisch nüchtern und verschlossen. Lediglich eine von
verspiegelten Glas -Segmenten gerahmte Tür gewährt dem Be su cher einen
ersten Ein blick. Das hier verbaute System minimal windows von Keller
AG unterbricht dabei großzügig die geradlinige Steinplattenfassade und
lässt den Ein gangs be reich einladend offen erscheinen. Der sich nach hin-
ten L-förmig fortsetzende Baukörper, bildet konzeptionell wie funktional
einen dauerhaften Sichtschutz für den rückseitig angelegten Pool-Gar ten
aus. Den unmittelbaren Übergang zwischen Poolanlage und Wohn raum
mar kiert eine vorgelagerte Terrassenfläche, deren Boden belag sich im
Innen raum fortsetzt. Dieser fließende Wech sel von Innen- zu Außen raum
wurde insbesondere mit dem Einbau des Fenster programms von Keller
AG verstärkt. Dank der schwellenlosen Inte gration des raumhohen, be -
son ders schmal profilierten Schiebe fenster-Systems werden Gar ten,
Wohn zimmer und Küche zu einer nahtlosen Einheit verbunden, die Natur
und Archi tektur als eng verzahnte Kompo nenten gegenüberstellt. Eben-
falls effekt voll ist das zurück gesetzte Obergeschoss, dessen Fassade aus

I n the middle of a rural housing development in the Belgian region of
Flanders stands the new villa designed by the Dhoore Vanweert archi-
tectural office. Towards the street, the two-storey residential building
looks monolithically sober and closed. Only the door framed by mirrored
glass segments allows the visitor a first look inside. The minimal windows
system by Keller AG installed here generously enlivens the rectilinear
façade of stone slabs and makes the entrance area look invitingly open.
As to the concept as well as the function, the structure continuing in an
L-shape towards the back produces permanent visual protection for the
pool garden located at the back of the building. The direct transition bet-
ween the pool and the living room is indicated by a terrace area in front
of the latter with its floor covering continuing in the interior. This flowing
change from inside to outside room was particularly emphasized with the
installation of the window system by Keller AG. Thanks to the threshold-
less integration of the room-high sliding window system with particularly
narrow profiles, the garden, the living room and the kitchen merge into a
seamless entity which juxtaposes nature and architecture as closely inter-
