furthermore received highest awards from the state: the Landesdenkmalpreis (2012) as
well as the Denkmalplakette of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (2014). Since
2012, it has even been possible to officially get married in the manor house.
The guest rooms were designed by and by since 2015

The next logical step was taken in 2015 with the furnishing of the first guest rooms on the
ground floor of the manor as well as two holiday flats in the carriage house. With the de-
sign of the Kranich Hotel as well, Schweder remained true to his creative principles. Even

mirrored screening walls. The cool shell aesthetics is, however, contrast with historic pie-
ces of furniture as well as curtains and carpets. Each room has a free-standing bathtub,
original models from the time of the penultimate turn of the century elaborately restored
for the Kranich Hotel. Since 2015, one by one a total of ten suites resulted. The two most
recent ones opened at the beginning of the current season under the roof. With integrated
niches and some of them being designed as maisonettes, they are the new “state rooms”
of the manor. For some years already, Schweder has been supported in the implemen-
tation by Clemens Klein. The son of the building client is in his early thirties and studied
architecture in Berlin and Zurich. Together with Schweder, he last also took on the con-
version of the restaurant in the old forge into the new, hip Kranich Café. So what if, this
