Das ehemalige Gerichtsgebäude dient nun als Hotel. • The former court building

D as Konzept des Vier-Sterne-Hotels im Saarland akzentuiert die Paral-
lelität zwischen historischem Bestand und urbanem Neubau. Die
kernsanierte Villa diente ehemals als Oberverwaltungsgericht, wodurch
dem Gebäude eine gewisse Signifikanz inhärent ist. Diese verkörpert das
Bauwerk innerhalb seiner neuen Nutzung nun als Haupteingang des Hotel-
komplexes. Neben dem Lobbybereich finden hier das Restaurant, die Bar
sowie klassisch gestaltete Themen-Suiten ihren Platz. Die skulpturale Wen-
deltreppe erschafft durch ihre klare Form ein zeitgemäßes Highlight inner-
halb des historischen Altbaus und stellt gleichsam die Haupterschließung
der gesamten Hotelanlage dar. Diese besteht aus einem dreigeschossigen
zurückhaltenden Neubau mit eloxierter Aluminium-Fassade, einem Bistro
mit verglastem Wintergarten sowie aus einer Terrassenfläche mit weitläu-
figer Parkanlage. Die gläsernen Übergänge vermitteln dabei Transparenz
und Wandlung, die durch die steuerbaren Fassadenelemente des Neubaus
aufgenommen und unterstrichen werden. Durch die unterschiedliche Ge-
staltung von 38 Zimmern und Suiten sowie verschiedener Tagungsräume
bedarf es auch bei den dazugehörigen Elektro– und Schalter-installationen
eines vielseitigen Spektrums. Dieses erfüllt Berker durch eine Kombination
zweier Designserien. Die Serie 1930 in Schwarz und Polarweiß verkörpert
Funktionalität und Geradlinigkeit im Bauhaus-Stil, während abgerundete
Konturen und das plane, flache Profil des Schalter pro-grammes Q.1 mit sei-
ner besonderen Oberfläche Aktualität transportiert. kg

Mit ihrer Serie 1930 verknüpft Berker Historie und das 21. Jahrhundert • With the Serie 1930, Berker links history with the 21st century. he concept of the four-star hotel in the Saarland emphasizes the par-
ding. The completely renovated villa formerly served as the Higher Ad-
ministrative Court, thus giving the building a certain inherent significance.
The building now incorporates the latter in its new use as the main
entrance of the hotel complex. Besides the lobby, this is where the restau-
rant, the bar as well as classically designed thematic suites are located.
Due to its clear shape, the sculptural spiral staircase is a modern highlight
within the old historic building and, at the same time, is the main access
to the whole hotel complex. The ensemble consists of a three-storey, incon-
spicuous new building with an anodized aluminium façade, a bistro with
a glazed conservatory as well as a terrace area with a spacious park. The
glass connecting constructions communicate transparency and the change
which is taken up and emphasized by the controllable façade elements of
the new building. Due to the different designs of the 38 rooms and suites
as well as to several conference rooms, a varied spectrum is also needed
when it comes to the suitable electric- and switch installations. This spec-
trum is offered by Berker with a combination of two design series. The
Serie 1930 in black and polar white represents functionality and rectilinea-
rity in the style of the Bauhaus whereas the rounded contours and the flat
