For his current series of photographs, the Swiss photographer Roger Eberhard travelled to
all five continents. In 32 cities, he always booked a standard double room in the local
Hilton Hotel and there photographed the interior with the double bed, the furniture and
the windows. In addition, he took pictures of the view from the window of the hotel room
in the respective city. This is how Roger Eberhard’s latest book “Standard” resulted which
shows multi-layered looks at our global world. The interiors of the worldwide largest
chain of hotels are equipped in the same way around the globe and thus look amazingly
uniform – quite unlike the views from the windows!
