E inmal im Leben auf die Seite der Kunden und Kundinnen wechseln und völlig wi-
dersprüchliche Wünsche in einem Briefing äußern! So machten es Scenario Archi-
tecture – mit ihren Anforderungen an sich selbst! Gleichzeitig Kunde, aber auch Architekt
sein kann zur Zerreißprobe werden oder aber – wie beim Londoner Architekturbüro –
von Erfolg gekrönt sein. Als der Umzug in die neuen Räumlichkeiten am Regent’s Canal
mit Blick auf das Wasser anstand, waren die Wünsche groß: Nachhaltiges, kontinuier-
liches Wachstum sollte möglich bleiben, genauso wie eine flexible Arbeitsumgebung,
gleichzeitig wünschten sich die Mitarbeitenden ein fließendes, dynamisches Büro. Die
enorme Raumhöhe ermöglichte, was der geringen Grundfläche fehlte – Spielraum!
Durch Einbauten wird ein maßgeschneidertes Obergeschoss geschaffen, das Meeting-
räume und Besprechungsmöglichkeiten bereithält. Das zusätzliche Volumen, an den
Raumkanten angeordnet, schenkt mehr Platz, ohne die offene Raumqualität zu beein-
trächtigen. Um eine Balance zwischen Offenheit und Privatheit zu finden, entwickelten
die Londoner ein Trennwandsystem aus nachhaltig beschaffenem Sperrholz und recy-
celbarem Polycarbonat. Je nach Erfordernissen der Arbeitssituation kann zwischen halb-
hohen und raumhohen Trennwänden gewählt werden. Entstanden ist eine gliedernde
Raumskulptur, die dem Team facettenreiche Nutzungsmöglichkeiten beschert.

S witching to the side of the clients and customers for once in your life and expressing
completely contradictory wishes in a briefing! That’s what Scenario Architecture did!
Being a client but also an architect at the same time can be a real ordeal or – as in the
case of the London architectural practice – crowned with success. When the move to the
new premises on Regent’s Canal with a view of the water was imminent, the wishes
were immense and contradictory: sustainable, continuous growth should remain pos-
sible, as should a flexible working environment, and simultaneously the employees
wanted a flowing, dynamic workspace. The enormous volume of the space made pos-
sible what the small footprint lacked – room to manoeuvre! Built-in units were used to
create a customised upper floor that provides meeting rooms and conference facilities.
The additional volume, positioned at the edges of the room, provides more space wit-
hout compromising the open quality of the room. To strike a balance between openness
and privacy, the Londoners developed a partition system made of sustainably sourced
plywood and recyclable polycarbonate. Depending on the requirements of the work si-
tuation, a choice can be made between half-height and floor-to-ceiling partitions. The
result is a structuring room sculpture that allows the team to use it in a variety of ways.
