                                                                              Martin Grothmaak, who was born in 1971, studied photogra-

                                                                              phy, film and visual design and – together with Danijela Djokic

                                                                              and Jürgen Späth – is a founding partner of Projekttriangle, an

                                                                              interdisciplinary design studio  which is headquartered in

                                                                              Stuttgart. In free and applied projects, he works as a creative

                                                                              director for international institutions and brands at the inter-

                                                                              face of design, art, architecture and culture.

                                                                              In the large-format works assembled for his Stardust photo se-

                                                                              ries, Martin Grothmaak currently focuses on the unbounded

                                                                              presentness of the now and the effect it has on both time and

                                                                              space. Far beyond any traditional norms and references, in this

                                                                              artistic process he searches for his individual form of interpre-


                                                                              tation and invites the viewers to engage in a play with their
                                                                              own longings, wishes and their very own souls. The viewers


                                                                              find themselves caught between two opposite poles:  void,

                                                                              darkness and hidden fears on the one side; love, energy, rap-

                                                                              ture, intensity and freedom on the other side. On pages

                                                                              008/009, 032/033 as well as 052/053 we show three select mo-

                                                                              tifs of the series.

                                                                              In addition, Martin Grothmaak used the Stardust photographs

                                                                              to create a haptically as well as graphically unusually pliant

                                                                              diary called Evertime. It is, at the same time, the first publica-

                                                                              tion by the independent art- and design publishing venture

                                                                              United Landscapes Publishers and Galleries which was recently

                                                                              founded by Grothmaak himself. In future, Grothmaak thus

                                                                              wants to make carefully edited and designed collectors’ publi-

                                                                              cations of books, prints, editions and art objects accessible for

                                                                              a discerning as well as extremely quality-conscious clientele.
