M it knapp zwei Dutzend Niederlassungen sind die Design Offices
führender Coworking-Space-Anbieter in Deutschland. Je nach
Bedarf stellt das Unternehmen diverse Räumlichkeiten zur Verfügung, so-
dass vom Studenten über Start-ups bis hin zu größeren Unternehmen
jeder einen geeigneten Platz findet. Wie bereits an zahlreichen anderen
Standorten vertraute das Unternehmen auch bei der Gestaltung des
Kölner Büros Gereon auf die Innenarchitekten brandherm + krumrey.
Diesen gelang es, ganz im Sinne eines modernen Arbeits umfelds, die
3.000 Quadratmeter sowohl mit industriellem Charme als auch mit einer
wohnlichen Note zu einem zeitgemäßen Arbeitsplatz umzugestalten.
Beherbergt werden zahlreiche Einzel- und Gruppen arbeitsplätze,
Besprechungszimmer, Loungen sowie Ver anstaltungs- und Tagungs -
räume. Letztere können durch flexible Trenn wände zu unterschiedlich
großen Eventflächen umfunktioniert werden. Ziel war es, ein inspriren-
des Umfeld zu schaffen, das an unterschiedliche Arbeits situationen
anpassbar ist und zudem Kommunikation und Austausch anregt. Zum
interaktiven Arbeiten stehen beschreibbare Wände und funktionale
Möbel wie Trolleys zur Verfügung. Das Konzept einer flexiblen Arbeits -
welt setzten die Architekten bis hin zum Boden belag um, wobei Slo ver-
wendet wurde, eine variabel anlegbare Teppichfliese von Carpet
Concept. Neben der positiven akustischen Eigenschaft und der Optik
Wohnliche Elemente sollen Austausch und Kommunikation anregen. • Cosy elements are to stimulate exchange and communication. überzeugt diese auch durch Langlebigkeit. lr

W ith close to two dozen subsidiaries, Design Offices is the leading
coworking-space provider in Germany. Depending on the
respective needs, the company offers diverse premises so that, from
students to start-ups to larger firms, everyone finds a suitable place. As
already for numerous other locations, when it came to the design of the
Cologne office the company once again trusted in the brandherm +
krumrey interior architects. Entirely in line with how a modern work
environment is supposed to be, they succeeded in converting the 3,000
square metres into a contemporary workspace with industrial charm as
well as a cosy touch. It offers several individual- and group workstati-
ons, meeting rooms, lounges as well as event- and conference rooms.
The latter can be turned into event areas of different sizes with the help
of flexible room dividers. The goal was to produce an inspiring setting
which can be adapted to different work situations and which further-
more inspires communication and exchange of information among the
people working there. Writable walls and functional furniture such as
trolleys are available to allow interactive working. The architects imple-
mented the concept of a flexible work world all the way to the floor
covering where Slo was used, a variably installable carpet tile by Carpet

look of the tiles, the product also convinces with its long service life.
