Konzerns 3M haben sich international durchgesetzt. Rund 50.000 weite-
re Artikel hat der Multikonzern in seinem Programm. Im Schweizer
Städtchen Langenthal – bekannt für seinen Designer’s Saturday – betreibt
das global agierende Unternehmen seine Beschaf fungs- und Logistik -
zentrale für Europa, den Nahen Osten und Afrika – kurz 3M EMEA
genannt. Der Neubau steht an prominenter Stelle, direkt am Bahnhof
Langenthal. Die Band fassade in farbigen Klinkern greift die Dynamik der
vorbeifahrenden Züge auf. Das Zürcher Architekturbüro Marazzi + Paul
hat den fünfgeschossigen Bürobau als minergiezertifiziertes und energie-
autarkes Gebäude konzipiert. Rund 300 Mitarbeiter aus 30 Nationen
arbeiten hier. Gelebt wird eine offene Bürokultur samt notwendiger
Rückzugsorte. Dass Transparenz, Offenheit, Kommuni kation und Flexi -
bilität großgeschrieben werden, lässt sich im gesamten Gebäude able-
sen, vor allem im lichtdurchfluteten Atrium. Raumhoch verglaste Büros
lagern sich daran an. Der im benachbarten Bützberg ansässige Büro -
möbelspezialist Girsberger konnte für die Büros, Konferenzräume und
die Lobby hochwertiges Büromobiliar beisteuern: Zum Einsatz kamen
die Drehstühle Camiro, die Loungemöbel Jack und Pablo sowie das
Konferenz tischsystem Adapt. Intelligente Bürolösungen, die sehr gut zum
Innovationsgeist von 3M passen. wa

globally active company operates its procurement and logistics centre for
Europe, the Middle East and Africa - 3M EMEA for short. The new buil-
ding is prominently located directly at the Langenthal railway station.
The façade with ribbon windows and coloured facing bricks picks up on
the dynamics of passing trains. Zurich-based architectural firm Marazzi +
Paul designed the five-storey office building as a Minergie-certified and
energy-autonomous building. Around 300 employees from 30 nations
work here. The company practises an open office culture including the
necessary places of retreat. The emphasis on transparency, openness,
communication, and flexibility can be seen throughout the building,
especially in the light-flooded atrium. Room-high glazed offices are adjoi-
ning it. Girsberger, the specialist based in the neighbouring town of Bütz-
berg, was able to contribute high-quality office furniture for the offices,
