W ollte man den Innenausbau der Gründerzeitwohnung von Gosplan Architects in
einem Wort beschreiben, könnte man ihn als minimalinvasiv bezeichnen. Ob-
gleich der erste Eindruck dies kaum glauben lässt, haben die Planer das vorgefundene
Altbau-Apartment in seiner Struktur und Qualität weitestgehend unverändert gelassen.
Lediglich der einst als repräsentatives Vestibül genutzte Flur erschien unter der Linse
heutiger Wohnraumstandards überdimensioniert. Um dieses Raumpotenzial auszu-
schöpfen und der Wohnung zu reichlich Stauraum zu verhelfen, wurde hier eine
Schrankwand eingefügt, die sich in ihrer Gliederung an der Grundrissstruktur orientiert.
Aufschluss über die jeweilige Nutzung hinter den zahlreichen Türen liefert die Oberflä-
chengestaltung, die mit Struktur- und Farbwechseln facettenreich wirkt und zugleich
(passend zu den floralen Motiven von Terrazzoboden und Deckenstuckatur) verspielte
Leichtigkeit mit einziehen lässt. Ein sich anschließendes Studio sorgt dabei nicht nur für
eine natürliche Flurbelichtung, sondern kann dank intelligenter Klappmechanismen
und Schiebetür auch als Arbeits- oder Gästezimmer fungieren. Alle weiteren Festein-
bauten folgen demselben Gestaltungsduktus und ertüchtigen die Wohnräume, unter Zu-
hilfenahme nur weniger, ausgewählter Möbelstücke alltagstauglich nutzbar zu sein, und
erzeugen damit die Illusion eines minimalistischen Lebensstils.

I f you wanted to describe the interior design of the Gründerzeit flat conceived by
Gosplan Architects in just two words, you could call it minimally invasive. Although
the first impression hardly leads visitors to believe this, the planners have in fact left
the structure and quality of the old flat largely unchanged. Only the hallway, once
used as a representative vestibule, appeared oversized from the perspective of today's
living space standards. In order to exploit this potential space and to provide the flat
with ample storage space, a wall of cupboards was inserted here, the structure of
which is based on the floor plan. Clues to the respective use behind the numerous
doors is provided by the surface design, which creates a multi-faceted effect thanks
to changes of texture and colour and simultaneously (in keeping with the floral motifs
of the terrazzo flooring and ceilings adorned with stucco) adds a playful lightness. An
adjoining studio not only provides natural lighting in the hallway, but can also serve
as a study or guest room thanks to intelligent folding mechanisms and sliding doors.
All other built-in units have the same design style and, with the help of only a few se-
lected pieces of furniture, enhance the living spaces so that they can be used for every-
day purposes, thus creating the illusion of a minimalist lifestyle.
