Unter dem Label Technobeton widmet sich der in Bulgarien ge-

borene und seit mehr als 20 Jahren in Stuttgart lebende Architekt

Iassen Markov vielen verschiedenen Leidenschaften: der Musik,

dem Design und der Architektur. Dabei verbinden sich die Spar -

ten – Markov arbeitet gleichermaßen als Techno-Produzent und DJ,

als Möbeldesigner und als Architekt – in seiner Pixel-Theorie. Aus

Pixeln, so Markov, könne nämlich alles Mögliche hergestellt wer-

den – Beats und Architektur. Sein Werkzeug ist der Computer. Auf

diese Weise sind auch die Ent würfe für die Villa Technobeton ent-

standen, die wir Ihnen in diesem Heft vorstellen. Das Brutalisti sche

und Maschinenhafte seiner Entwürfe findet dabei immer eine sub-

tile, ironische Brechung, die der Tausendsassa geschickt in seine

Darstellungen einwebt. Letztlich gilt dies auch für seine Möbel und

nicht zuletzt für seine gnadenlos tanzbaren Beats.

The architect Iassen Markov – who was born in Bulgaria and has

already lived in Stuttgart for more than 20 years – uses the label

Technobeton to focus on many different passions: music, design

and architecture. Markov equally works as a techno-music pro-

ducer and a DJ, as a furniture designer and as an architect and links

these genres in his pixel theory. Out of pixels, as Markov claims,

everything you can think of can be produced – beats as well as ar-
chitecture. It goes without saying that his tool is the computer. With

the latter, the designs for Villa Technobeton have also been created

which we present you in this edition. The brutalist and machine-

like appearance of his designs always comes with a subtle, ironic

break which the jack of all trades cleverly weaves into his repre-

sentations. The same ultimately also applies to his furniture and,

not last, to his mercilessly danceable beats.
