MAGGI-KOCHSTUDIO 2.0
IN FRANKFURT/MAIN
Entwurf • Design sbp – Seel Bobsin Partner, Hamburg
von • by Petra Stephan
Wo man in kleinen Gruppen Kochkurse aller Art bucht, wer-
F or more than 50 years, the “Maggi Kochstudio” has been the heart of the Maggi
brand and now the first walk-in food blog in Germany has been established at the
legendary location in the city centre of Frankfurt! In the beginning, the questions facing
the Hamburg sbp planning office were “How does a walk-in blog actually look?” and
“How to transfer digital virtuality into analogue reality?” One thing quickly became
clear: A food blog has the character of a workshop, it allows several ways of use and of
experience, creates quality of stay and promotes communication since, in giving the
brand a new direction, the issue was first and foremost a community which can be per-
ceived, a collective exchange and the experience of cooking together. An important com-
ponent is a sophisticated base as to media technology. Despite this, technology is not
visually in the foreground but functions in a discretely integrated way. Where one enjoys
a changing selection of small dishes, in the evening events centred on the topic of cook-
ing and nutrition or company events take place. Where cooking classes of all kinds are
booked in small groups, film- and photo contents are also being produced live for the
digital media. A bright tiled floor, walls in gradations of grey as well as colour accents
in the CI colours of yellow and red cleverly link various areas of use and stay.
