m Düsseldorfer Medienhafen eröffnete der erste deutsche Showroom
von Koleksiyon. Der türkische Möbelhersteller mit Hauptsitz in Istan bul
I
ist auf Expansionskurs in Westeuropa und wird von der nordrhein-west-
fälischen Landeshaupt stadt aus sowohl Deutschland als auch weitere eu -
ropäische Länder betreuen. Die Lage des neuen Show rooms im Erd ge -
schoss in der Kaistraße 16a nahe der sogenannten The Livingbridge – ei -
ner Fahrrad- und Fußgängerbrücke mit Gastro nomie – ist dementspre-
chend repräsentativ. Er nimmt insgesamt 800 Qua drat meter ein und er -
streckt sich 50 Meter entlang der raumhohen, durchgängigen Fensterfront
mit Blick auf den Rhein. Das ehemalige Lager ge bäude wur de 1997 nach
Plänen der ortsansässigen Ingenhoven Architekten zu einem Büro- und
Ateliergebäude umgebaut und aufgestockt – gesäumt von Bauten der Ar -
chi tekten Steven Holl sowie David Chipperfield. Durch die sichtbare rohe
Betondecke und die offene Stüt zen struktur behielt Koray Malhan, Brand-
und Design-Direktor von Koleksiyon, den ehemaligen Lager ge bäu de-Cha -
rak ter im Ausstel lungs raum bei. Auf der freien Präsentations flä che sind
nun Lösungen für Ar beitsplätze, Bespre chungen und Lounges zu sehen,
wo bei die Möbel durch Teppiche und De ko ra tions objekte ergänzt wer-
den. Weiße Wände und Stüt zen sowie ein homogener heller Boden erge-
ben einen ruhigen Hintergrund für die Produkte, von denen höchstens die
wei te Aussicht etwas ablenkt. Dafür zieht der Show room bei nächtlicher
Beleuchtung mit der großen Fensterfront von außen Blicke auf sich. ds

ground floor at Kaistraße 16a close to the so-called Livingbridge pedestri-
an bridge with restaurants – is correspondingly prestigious. The show-
room has a total of 800 square metres and extends 50 metres along the
ceiling-high, continuous window façade with a view of the Rhine. In 1997,
the former warehouse was converted and expanded into an office- and
studio building according to plans by the local Ingenhoven Architekten
and bordered by buildings designed by the architects Steven Holl as well
as David Chipperfield. Thanks to the visible, untreated concrete ceiling
and the open support structure, Koray Malhan, brand- and design direc-
tor at Koleksiyon, succeeded in preserving the former warehouse appea-
rance in the exhibition room. On the open presentation area solutions
can now be seen for workstations, meetings and lounges with the furni-
ture being complemented by carpets and decorative objects. White walls
and pillars as well as a homogenous light-coloured floor produce a calm
setting for the products with only the wide view providing some distrac-
tion. On the other hand, when illuminated at night, the showroom with
