S ince last September, Japanese fashion label Pas de Calais has been
represented in the French capital by a store with about 75 square
metres on Rue de Poitou 15. Yukari Suda’s collections are characterised
by specifically designed fabrics and softly flowing dress patterns. In the
design of the store in Paris, Raphael Navot transferred the fashion desi-
gner’s strong affinity to texture and surface feel to the architectural
space. Natural materials like wood, limestone and steel in combination
with simple shapes authentically emphasise the style of the fashion
designer. Thereby, ceiling- and wall-mounted product carriers by PSlab
help to decisively determine the appearance of the interior. In the cen-
tre of the room, space-consuming v-shaped brackets made of powder-
coated steel position a more than 6-metre long clothes rail, which is
equipped with an LED profile. The thus created direct lighting of the
clothes brings the different fabrics and colour nuances to the fore and
allows the customer a different, material-related perception of the pie-
ces of clothing. The store equipment is complemented with matching
product carriers for shop windows or open spaces and display tables
made of longitudinal sections of tree trunks. A small-scale wooden
floor covering and a wall structured with short wooden pegs takes up
the theme of varied textures once again and makes the visit to the first
