Liquid City – Triennale in Brügge

Bis 16. September findet in Brügge die zweite Triennale statt. Thema ist das Wasser, das
das Bild der belgischen Stadt prägt. Metaphorisch steht es für ihre Offenheit und Bereit -
schaft zur stetigen Veränderung in Zeiten des Wandels. Architekten und Künstler realisier-
ten im Auftrag der Stadt 15 Kunstwerke und Installationen auf der Suche nach Formen,
die Gastfreundschaft, Zusammenarbeit und Kreativität ausdrücken. Ein farbenprächtiger
Eye catcher ist dabei der schwimmende Pavillon auf dem Kanal Coupure, der direkt zum
Sprung ins kalte Nass einlädt. Gestaltet wurde dieser vom spanischen Architektenduo
SelgasCano, deren Kongresszentrum in Pasencia den Titel von AIT 5.2018 ziert.

Until 16th September, the second triennial will take place in Bruges. The theme is the
water which characterizes the Belgian city. As a metaphor, it stands for the city’s openness
and its readiness for constant changes. Architects and artists designed 15 works of art and
installations in search of forms that express hospitality, cooperation and creativity. A
colourful eye-catcher is the floating pavilion on the Coupure canal which right away invites
to jump into the chilly water. It was designed by the Spanish duo of architects SelgasCano,
whose conference centre in Plasencia adorns the cover of AIT 5.2018. Fotos: Iwan Baan
