Jan Silas Jansen denkt das Haus der Architektur konsequent als Pavillonstruktur in einem öffentlichen Park. • Jan Silas Jansen consistently conceives of the house as a pavilion structure in a public park.

A nerkennung: Die vorliegende städtebauliche Situation befindet sich an der Nahtstelle
zwischen Wohnbau und Kulturmeile. Die Körnung des neu beplanten Bereichs ori-
entiert sich an der Wohnbebauung im nördlichen Teil und erstreckt sich bis in den Kultur-
bereich im Süden. Die Pavillons tragen nicht nur zur Erhaltung des parkartigen Charakters
bei, sondern verleihen diesem auch eine zusätzliche Bedeutung. Der Park soll weiterhin
als öffentlich zugänglicher Ort für die Allgemeinheit fungieren und erhält die Funktion
eines Museums für Architektur hinzu. Die Parkbesucher können sich somit bewusst oder
unbewusst dafür entscheiden, sich mit der Ausstellung zu befassen oder den Park einfach
nur als solchen zu nutzen. Es gibt eine öffentliche Ausstellung in einem offenen Pavillon
am östlichen Hauptzugang, die immer zugänglich ist. Ein weiterer Ausstellungspavillon ist
am nördlichen Hauptzugang platziert. Das Herzstück, der Hauptausstellungsraum mit dem
Stadtmodell, ist zentral auf dem Grundstück platziert. Am südlichen Hauptzugang befindet
sich ein Ensemble aus drei Pavillons, welches die Direktorenwohnung bildet. jsj
Juryurteil: „Die Pavillonstruktur ist hinsichtlich klimatischer, nachhaltiger Aspekte, Städtebauliche Verortung • Urban location
aber auch der Ausnutzung des zur Verfügung stehenden Grundstückes anerkennens-

R ecognition: The current urban-development situation is located at the interface
between residential construction and the cultural mile. The conceptual essence of
the area which is to be newly designed is based on the residential development in the
northern part of the site and extends to the cultural area with various famous venues
that is located in the south. The pavilions not only contribute to preserving the park-like
character, but also give it additional significance. The park will continue to function as a
readily accessible place for the general public and will also serve as a museum of archi- Ansicht und Schnitt • View and section
tecture. Park visitors can thus consciously or unconsciously decide to engage with the
exhibition or simply use the park as such. There is a public exhibition in an open pavilion
at the eastern main entrance, which is always accessible. Another exhibition pavilion is
located at the northern main entrance. The centrepiece, the main exhibition space cont-
aining the city model, is centrally located on the site. At the southern main entrance, there
is an ensemble of three pavilions that form the director’s residence. jsj
Jury verdict: “The pavilion structure is commendable in terms of climatic and sustain-
ability aspects, but also in terms of the use of the available site, and provides low-th-
reshold access to the subject of architecture.”
