DAS EHEMALIGE LANDHAUS VON GEOFFREY BAWA IST JETZT EIN COUNTRY-HOTEL

Seit Geoffrey Bawas Tod im Jahr 2003 wird Lunuganga als Country Hotel genutzt. • Lunuganga has only been used as a country hotel since Bawa's death. The conversion work was completed last year.
Die Münchner Architekturjournalistin Katharina Matzig ist in Sri
Lanka auf den Spuren Geoffrey Bawas gewandelt. Er gilt als der
Erfinder des Tropical Modernism. Übernachtet hat Matzig in Bawas
posthum fertiggestellten Hotel resort Anantara Kalutara. Und sie
hat Tee getrunken in Lunuganga, dem ehemaligen Landsitz des
Architekten. Seit Bawas Tod kann das Landhaus samt dem großen
Garten besichtigt werden. Zudem verfügt die Anlage über sechs
geräumige Gästezimmer und wird als Country-Hotel geführt.
Architectural journalist Katharina Matzig from Munich has follo-
wed the traces of Geoffrey Bawa in Sri Lanka. He is regarded as the
inventor of Tropical Modernism. Matzig spent the night at Bawa's
posthumously completed hotel resort Anantara Kalutara. And she
drank tea in Lunuganga, the architect's former country residence.
Since Bawa's death, the country house together with the large gar-
den can be visited. In addition, the complex has six spacious guest
rooms and is run as a country hotel.
