1 Erst zartroter Beton, nun goldgelber Spritzputz: Pedevilla Architects aus Bruneck ver-
leihen ihren Feuerwachen architektonische Qualität durch spannende Material-Farb-
Kombinationen und klare Linienführung. Nachdem letztes Jahr ihre zartrote Feuer wache
im italienischen Vierschach für Aufmerksamkeit sorgte, rückt nun die Feuerwehr Sand in
Taufers ins Zentrum des Architekturinteresses. Sie wurde Anfang des Jahres fertiggestellt
und steht frei am Eingang des Tauferer Ahrntals in Italien. Die klare und einfache Form
entspricht den zweckbestimmten Anforderungen – vor allem an kurze Erschließungs we -
ge. Spannung schufen die Architekten mit Öffnungen bildenden Volumeneinschnitten.
Um dennoch die monolithische Gebäude wir kung zu erhalten, wurden be stimm te Fenster
sowie die Einfahrtstore zur Fahrzeughalle mit goldgelben Streckmetall verdeckt, das die
Farbigkeit des groben Spritzputzes aufnimmt. Im Erdgeschoss wird das Gelb fortgeführt –
ob beim Kunstharzboden in der Fahrzeughalle oder den Duschen, an den Wän den der
Nasszellen oder der Pulverbeschichtung der metallenen Umkleidespinde. Im Ober ge -
schoss dagegen bestimmen Holzböden und Cremeweiß eine privatere At mos phäre. Hier
ist unter anderem der Schulungsraum angeordnet, der sich mit breitem Fens ter band und
Dachterrasse der Umgebung öffnet. Das Kellergeschoss birgt ei ne Über raschung anderer
Art: einen Ausstellungsraum für erhaltenswerte Ausrüs tungselemente – sie sollen in

Bruneck add architectural quality to their fire stations with fascinating combinations
of materials and colours and clear lines. After their subtly red fire station in Vierschach
in Italy attracted attention last year, now the Sand in Taufers fire station is in the focus of
architects’ interest. It was completed at the beginning of the year and stands alone at the
entrance of the Tauferer Ahrn Valley in Italy. The clear and simple form meets the purpo-
se-specific requirements – above all the short access routes. The architects designed an
eye-catcher with incisions into the building to produce openings. To nonetheless achieve
the look of a monolithic building, individual windows as well as the entrance gates to
the vehicle hall were covered with golden yellow expanded metal with the same colour-
fulness as the rough spray plaster. The yellow colour is continued on the ground floor:
Whether for the synthetic-resin floor in the vehicle hall or in the showers, on the walls of
the wet cells or in the powder coating of the metal lockers in the changing room. On the
upper level, in contrast, timber floors and creamy white produce a private atmosphere.
Here, among other rooms, the training room is positioned which opens to the surroun-
dings with a wide band of windows and a roof terrace. The basement holds a special
surprise: an exhibition room for elements of equipment deemed to be worth preserving.
