UMBAU EINES FABRIKGEBÄUDES IN ROTTERDAM ZUR BÜROLANDSCHAFT DURCH JDWA

Zwei historische Bauten – Fabrik und Fabrikantenvilla – wurden für die Bürolandschaft miteinander verbunden. • Two historic buildings – factory and villa – have been interconnected for the new office landscape.

Für den Lebensmittelkonzern Upfield entwarf das Architekturbüro
JDWA – Johan De Wachter Architecten eine neue Arbeitswelt an der
Maas in Rotterdam. Untergebracht sind die Räume in einem histori-
schen Fabrikbau und der angrenzenden Fabrikantenvilla. Während
die Erdgeschosse Produktion, Lagerung und Logistik aufnehmen, ent-
standen die Büros in den oberen Stockwerken. Vor allem das Dach-
geschoss wurde für die neue Nutzung ausgebaut – der Projektname
The Attic verrät es! Hier stellt Johan De Wachter den Ausbau vor.

The JDWA – Johan De Wachter Architecten – office have designed
for the Upfield food company a new workspace situated on the
Maas River in Rotterdam. The premises are located in a historic
factory building and the adjoining industrialist’s villa. Whereas
the ground floor contains the production, storage and logistics,
the offices are on the upper floors. Above all the top floor has
been developed for the new usage – the name of the project, The
Attic, reveals it! Johan De Wachter here presents the expansion.
