D as Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel – in den 1980er- und 1990er-Jahren noch der In be griff
eines sozialen Brennpunktes inklusive Drogenszene und R otlichtmilieu – mausert
sich seit den mittler en Nullerjahren zum angesagten Ausgehviertel. An allen Ecken und
Enden finden sich stylishe Bars, schicke Restaurants und schnieke Design hotels. Einer der
aktuellsten „Location“-Zuwächse ist das im vergangenen Jahr eröff ne te Res tau rant Stanley
Diamond in der Ottostraße, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Nord aus gang des Bahnhofs ent-
fernt. Es ist bereits die fünfte Frankfurter Gastronomie von Oskar Melzer und den Brüdern
David und James Ardi nast, die – ganz aktuell – mit dem Restaurant Louis Pretty auch nach
Berlin e xpandieren – zu sehen auf der nächs ten Dopp elseite! Für die Gestaltung des
Stanley Diamond ar beiteten die Betr eiber mit den F rankfurter Architekten Bernd Hollin
und Alexander Radoske zusammen. Sie schufen für den parallel zur Otto straße ausgerich -
teten Gastraum ein elegantes Interieur mit vielen Mid-Cen tury-Anklängen. Die Rückwand
sowie die Bar sind mit grünem, stark gemasertem Marmor verkleidet, der Estrich-Boden
wurde rosa durchgefärbt und die Decke mit feuerverzinkten Metallplatten gestaltet. Eine
massive, lang gestreckte Sitzbank – an drei Seiten mit edlem Apfelbaumfurnier verkleidet –
zoniert den R aum. Ab gerundet wird das äuß erst atmosphä rische Innenr aumkonzept
durch eine rote Panoramascheibe, die hinter der Bar den Blick in die Küche freigibt.

T he area around Frankfurt’s main station – in the 1980s and 1990s a perfect exam-
ple of a deprived district with a drug scene and the world of pimps and prosti-
tutes – has since the noughties evolved into a trendy nightlife area. One can find styl-
ish bars, fancy restaurants and posh design hotels in every nook and corner. One of
the most r ecent additions to these venues is the Stanle y Diamond R estaurant on
Ottostraße, which was opened last year and is located only a few minute walk from
the north exit of the station. It is the fifth restaurant by Oskar Melzer and the brothers
David and James Ar dinast, who very recently expanded into Berlin with their Louis
Pretty Restaurant, which is presented on the next spread! For the design of the Stanley
Diamond the op erators cooperated with the ar chitects Bernd Hollin and Ale xander
Radoske from Frankfurt. They created an elegant interior with many hints of mid-cen-
tury design for the guestroom oriented parallel to Ottostraße. The rear wall and the
bar are clad with green, expressively veined marble, the screed floor was thoroughly
dyed rose and the ceiling was finished with hot-dip galvanised metal plates. A mas-
sive, elongated b ench, on thr ee sides c lad with exquisite apple tr ee wood veneer,
zones the room. The interior design concept full of atmosphere is rounded off with a
red panorama window behind the bar, which affords views to the kitchen.
