Das „neue“ Felix-Meritis-Haus beherbergt insgesamt fünf große Veranstaltungssäle sowie das Restaurant „Felix“. • The “new” Felix Meritis has a total of five large event halls as well as the Felix restaurant.

Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit

Das 1788 an der Amsterdamer Keizersgracht eröffnete Gesellschaftshaus „Felix Meritis“
hat eine bewegte Geschichte. Im 19. Jahrhundert ein Zentrum für Kultur und Wissen-
schaft, zog zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zunächst ein Zeitungsverlag, später die Kom-
munistische Partei ein. Das Haus wurde in der Folge zum Symbol für den Kommunismus
schlechthin! Mittlerweile hat die Stadt das Haus übernommen und von i29 interior
architects grundlegend erneuern lassen. Es soll wie im 19. Jahrhundert wieder ein Ort
der Kultur- und Wissensvermittlung werden. Aktuell ist die Eröffnung für Juni geplant!

ning of the 20 century initially a newspaper publisher and later the communist
party moved in. Later on, the house became the symbol of communism per se! Me-
anwhile, the city has taken over the building and had it thoroughly refurbished by

the i29 interior architects. As in the 19 century, it is to once again become a place
