I n einem Einkaufszentrum eine Bankfiliale samt Beratungsstelle zu eröff nen ist ei n cle-
verer Schachzug. Sei es um Geld abzuheben oder anzulegen – mit der span nungs -
vollen, polygonen Wandstruktur weckt die staatliche Sparkasse DSK die Aufmerksamkeit
ihrer Kunden. Südöstlich der bulgarischen Hauptstadt haben die neuen Filialräume auf
den ersten Blick wenig mit dem klassischen Auftritt eines Geldinstituts gemein. Reduziert
auf die Markenfarben Weiß und Grün, überzeugt der schlauchähnliche Grundriss mit be-
eindruckender Wei te, die durch raffiniert eingesetzte Lichtbänder an Decke und Boden
sowie einer Vertikallattung verstärkt wird. Die weißen Lamellen verhül len darüber hinaus
die gesamte Technik, sodass sich dem Kunden ein angenehm aufgeräumter Innenraum
präsentiert. Zum wahren Multitalent werden dabei die grünen Paneele: An t a go nis tisch
komplettieren sie die feingliedrige Holzlattung, erzeugen räumliche Tiefe, optimieren die
Akustik, dienen zur Aufnahme der Geldautomaten und Self-Service-Technik und locken
zugleich als willkommene Sitzgelegenheit mit Privatsphäre. Diskre ti on für ausführlichere
Beratungen entsteht im hinteren Bereich auf Knopfdruck. Hier kann die raumhohe Glas-
wand in Sekunden von transparent auf opak geschaltet werden. Dem schnelleren Infor-
mationsaustausch dienen im vorderen Bereich Bera tungsinseln aus Edelstahl – als Pen-
dant zum Wandrelief – in konvexer, skulptural anmutender Form.

O pening the branch of a bank including an advisory section in a shopping centre
is a smart move. Whether to withdraw money or to invest it – with the intriguing,
polygon wall structure, the national DSK savings bank attracts its clients’ attention.
Southeast of the Bulgarian capital, the premises of the new branch have at first glance
little in common with the classic look of a financial institute. Reduced to the brand
colours white and green, the tube-like layout convinces with its impressive width that
is increased by cleverly installed bands of light on the ceiling and the floor as well as
by vertical battening. The white slats furthermore conceal the complete technology
so that the client finds a pleasantly tidy interior. The green panels are true multi-ta-
lents: They antagonistically complement the delicate wooden slats, produce spatial
depth, optimize the acoustics, serve to house the cash machines and the self-service
technology and, at the same time, attract as welcome seating with privacy. At the
push of a button, discretion for more detailed consulting is provided in the back area.
Here it is possible to change the ceiling-high glass wall within seconds from transpa-
rent to opaque. In the front area, consultation islands of stainless steel serve the faster
exchange of information and this in a convex, sculptural form.
