U m Hauterkrankungen neben einer ärztlichen Behandlung ganzheitlich zu begleiten,
kann die kosmetische Dermatologie helfen, Beschwerden zu mildern und Heilungs-
prozesse zu fördern. Das AeR Skinlab hat sich genau diesen die Therapie unterstützenden
Behandlungen verschrieben. Für den Innenausbau des 85 Quadratmeter großen Laden-
lokals als Flagship-Studio der Marke entstand ein Konzept, das sich vom Habitus einer
Klinik abwendet und stattdessen eine niederschwellige Salonatmosphäre fokussiert, die
Patientinnen und Patienten Entschleunigung und Sicherheit vermitteln möchte. Das
Leckie-Team wählte dafür monolithische Formen sowie eine monochrome Farbgebung
und Materialität, die dank der umfassenden Marmorverkleidungen aus einem Stein-
bruch auf Vancouver Island einen großen regionalen Bezug bekommt. Inspiriert von
Steinbruch-Fotografien von Edward Burtynsky erhielten die Marmorverkleidungen einen
vertikalen Reliefschliff, der dem weiß-grau-melierten Material eine lebendige Struktur
verleiht. Thematisch setzt sich dabei der Schliff in der Schaufensterverglasung fort und
erreicht so in einem eigentlich öffentlichen Empfangsbereich ein hohes Maß an Privat-
sphäre. Hinzu kommt eine, der Anmutung einer Stalaktitenhöhle entlehnte, Deckenin-
stallation aus Tyvek-Fäden – einem Polyethylenvlies, das einfallendes Licht streut und
eine poetisch-schwerelose Komponente in das gekonnt reduziert gehaltene Studio bringt.

C osmetic dermatology can help to alleviate skin conditions and promote healing
processes in order to holistically attend to skin diseases in addition to medical
treatment. The AeR Skinlab has dedicated itself precisely to these therapy-supporting
treatments. or the interior design converting the 85-square-metre retail space into the
brand’s flagship studio a concept was developed that turns away from the habitus of
a clinic and instead focuses on a low-threshold salon atmosphere that aims to convey
deceleration and security to patients. To achieve this, the Leckie team chose monolithic
shapes and a monochrome colour scheme and material concept that, thanks to the ex-
tensive marble cladding from a quarry on Vancouver Island, express a great regional
reference. Inspired by quarry photographs taken by Edward Burtynsky, the marble
cladding was given a vertical relief cut that gives the white-grey mottled material a
lively texture. Thematically, the polish is continued in the shop window glazing, thus
achieving a high degree of privacy in what is actually a public reception area. In addi-
tion, there is a ceiling installation made of Tyvek threads, a polyethylene fleece, borro-
wed from the impression of a stalactite cave, which diffuses incident light and thus in-
troduces a poetically weightless component into the masterly reduced studio.
