S tarke Hierarchiestrukturen sind in zukunftsorientierten Unternehmen von gestern!
Das beweist das Stuttgarter andOffice in seinem eigenen Büro: An 24 kompakten
Plätzen ohne feste Zuordnung können Mitarbeitende ihrer Kreativität freien Lauf lassen.
Für das Vorhaben wurde eine ehemalige Lagerfläche komplett entkernt und in einen
Showroom verschiedener Holzwerkstoffe gewandelt. Die freistehenden Einbauten sollen
dabei auf subtile Art die architektonische Haltung von andOffice widerspiegeln. Im rück-
wärtigen Teil des Büros sind als Äquivalent zu den aufgeschlossenen Flächen drei visuell
sowie akustisch abgeschottete Boxen verfügbar; eine Mittelzone für interne Meetings, Mo-
dellbau und Präsentationen wird über eine offene Raumstruktur aus Fichtenbalken ge-
fasst. Der vormalige Treppenkern bildet die digitale Schaltzentrale des Büros und ist
gleichzeitig Creative Hub – umlaufende Regalböden eignen sich für Materialcollagen und
das Aufhängen von Plänen. Da sich Arbeitnehmende inzwischen nicht mehr nach Work
Life Balance, sondern vielmehr nach einem fließenden Übergang zwischen Arbeit und
Freizeit sehnen, offeriert ein multifunktionaler Nebentrakt eine Wohnküche mit Lounge,
einen Sanitärbereich und einen Besprechungsraum. In diesem kann außerhalb der Bü-
rozeiten ein Schrankbett aus dem Meeting-Möbel gezaubert werden, falls private Veran-
staltungen im Büro doch einmal etwas länger dauern – New Work at its best!

S trict hierarchy structures are a thing of the past in forward-looking businesses! The
Stuttgart andOffice proves this in its own office premises: Employees can give free
rein to their creativity at 24 compact workstations without fixed assignment. For this
purpose, a former storage area has been completely gutted and turned into a showroom
for various wood materials. The freestanding installations are to thereby reflect the ar-
chitectural approach of andOffice in a subtle way. As an equivalent to the open-plan
areas, in the back part of the office three visually as well as acoustically screened boxes
are available; a middle zone for internal meetings, model construction and presentati-
ons is bordered by an open room structure of beams consisting of spruce wood. The
former stairwell is the digital control centre of the office and, at the same time, the crea-
tive hub – all-round shelves serve for composing material collages and suspending
plans. Since, by now, employees no longer wish for a work-life balance but for a flowing
transition of working and leisure time, a multifunctional side wing offers an eat-in kit-
chen with a lounge, a sanitary zone and a meeting room. In the latter, outside office
hours a piece of meeting furniture can turned into a foldaway bed in case private events
in the office should some day last somewhat longer – New Work at its best!
