M enschenmassen, babylonisches Sprachgewirr, Handy-Gebimmel, Online-Konfe-
renzen, musikalische Beschallung, Tasten- und Gerätetöne... Ruhe gilt in Zeiten
omnipräsenter akustischer Störquellen längst als Luxusgut. Doch genau dies – auditi-
ver Komfort – ist das Geschäft von Slalom. Das italienische Unternehmen stellt Paneele,
Raumteiler und Textilien her, mit denen sich Innenräume in Sachen Dezibel optimie-
ren lassen. Auf dem Mailänder Salone del Mobile war Slalom mit „Living Lab“ präsent.
studiolatte entwickelte dafür das Szenario eines Forschungslabors. Auf schmalen, von
Förderbändern inspirierten Stehtischen wurden jene natürlichen und recyclingfähigen
Roh-Materialien vorgestellt, die den Produkten zugrunde liegen. Protagonisten des Messe-
stands waren aber die Wandpaneel-Kollektionen selbst. Vollflächig bekleideten diese die
Messestandwände. Textur, Oberfläche und Farbe pur! Jedes Segment zeichnete sich durch
eine Hauptfarbe aus. Große Durchgänge zwischen den Räumen machten es möglich,
die harmonischen Farbsequenzen perspektivisch zu entdecken. „Acousthetics“ heißt das
Konzept, mit dem Slalom Akustik, Ethik und Ästhetik auf einen Nenner bringt. Die aus
recyceltem Kunststoff und Wolle hergestellten Produkte sind nicht nur „made in Italy“,
sondern auch „made to last“. Absoluter Hingucker: Bloom, ein Mix aus natürlichen
Fasern und dauerhaft duftenden Blütenblättern, zu sehen auf der rechten Seite.

C rowds of people, a Babel of voices, ringing of cell phones, online conferences, musi-
cal background noise, the sounds of typing and device... In times of omnipresent
acoustic disturbances, peace and quiet has long become a luxury. That very concept –
auditory comfort – is the business of Slalom. The Italian company manufactures panels,
room dividers and textiles that help optimise the decibel levels in interior spaces. Sla-
lom was present at the Salone del Mobile in Milan with “Living Lab”. studiolatte had
developed the scenario of a research laboratory in which natural and recyclable raw
materials were presented. These were displayed on high, narrow tables inspired by con-
veyor belts. The protagonists of the trade fair stand, however, were the company‘s wall
panel collections, which completely covered the walls with their textures, surfaces and
colors. Each segment of the stand was characterized by a central color. Large passages
between the rooms made it possible to discover the harmonious color sequences in per-
spective. Slalom’s concept, called “Acousthetics”, unites acoustics, ethics and aesthetics.
Their products, mainly made from recycled plastic and wool, are not only “made in
Italy” but also “made to last”. The new wall covering Bloom (photo on the right), a mix
of natural fibers and long-lasting scented petals, was an absolute eye-catcher.
