R umänien hat seit vielen Jahren eine dynamische Architekturszene. Mitten drin: Bog-
dan Ciocodeica, der seit 2011 ein auf Verkaufsräume und Wohnapartments spezia-
lisiertes Architekturbüro in Bukarest führt. 2021 gestaltete der kurz zuvor von der rumä-
nischen Architektenkammer für ein Wohnprojekt in Bukarest ausgezeichnete Planer das
erste Ladenlokal für das junge Brillenlabel Lunet. Mit Knallfarben, Diskokugel und roll-
baren Verkaufsdisplays empfahl er sich prompt für den Folgeauftrag der zweiten Filiale
in Cluj-Napoca. Im Zentrum der zweitgrößten Stadt des Landes, deren Charme sich durch
einen reichen Baubestand aus der Habsburgerzeit begründet, sollte der südliche Ab-
schnitt eines alten Hofgebäudes aus dem 18. Jahrhundert zum Verkaufsraum zusammen-
geschlossen und durch die Wiederholung poppiger Schlüsselelemente aus dem Bukare-
ster Geschäft in Szene gesetzt werden. Unter dem historischen Tonnengewölbe können
hier jetzt spacige Brillendisplays mit Aluverkleidung und umlaufenden Lichtrahmen frei
im Raum platziert werden. Dem metallischen Silber der Präsentationsmöbel und Wände
blitzt das Königsblau eines durchlaufend gegossenen Epoxidharzbodens entgegen, das
durch die Bastverkleidung eines eingestellten Besprechungsbereichs kontrastiert wird.
Hauptakteur – neben Pierre Jeannerets Stuhlklassiker – bleibt das funktionale Ladenbau-
system, das den Bestand unberührt und der Ware ausreichend Wirkungsraum lässt.

F or many years, Rumania has had a dynamic architecture scene. In the midst of it:
Bogdan Ciocodeica who, since 2011 and in Bucharest, has been head of an architec-
tural office specializing in sales rooms and apartments. In 2021, the planner shortly be-
fore awarded for a residential project in Bucharest designed the first store for the young
Lunet brand of glasses. With bright colours, a mirror ball and rollable sales displays, he
promptly recommended himself for the follow-up commission, the second branch in
Cluj-Napoca. In the centre of the second largest city of the country, whose charm is
based on the rich building stock from the Hapsburg period, the southern section of an

old courtyard building from the 18 century was to be combined into a sales room and
equipped with trendy key elements from the Bucharest store. Below the historic vault
ceiling, space-age glasses displays with aluminium cladding and all-round light frames
can now be freely placed in the room. Between the metallic silver of the presentation
furniture and the walls flashes the royal blue of a continuously cast epoxy-resin floor
that is contrasted with the raffia cladding of an inserted consultation area. The protago-
nist – besides Pierre Jeanneret’s classic chair – is the functional shopfitting system which
leaves the existing building stock untouched and allows the products sufficient impact.
