Vintalogy from Madrid specializes in selling second-hand de-

signer clothing and enjoys cult status particularly among young

fashion aficionados living in the Spanish capital. They now find

their trusted second-hand shop at three locations in the metrop-

olis. The newest store was opened at the beginning of the year on

Calle Barceló on the northern edge of the city centre. Its design

was entrusted to Rocío Pina Isla and Carmelo Rodriguez Cedillo

from the architectural firm Enorme Studio. The architects used

commercial shell construction materials and corresponding tools

to decorate the two-level salesroom. Displays, cash desks and

shelves are built from vertically perforated clay blocks. Painter's

trestles, screw clamps and shovels all painted white were "con-

verted" into clothes rails and other displays for textiles. Conclud-
ingly, the architects also came up with a suitable staging for the

final photo shoot – with construction workers in blue protective

suits, breathing masks and safety goggles! Here and on the pages
