I nmitten ländlich-traditioneller Umgebungsbebauung hat das neue Wohn hausprojekt
von dekleva gregoric architects seinen Platz. Inspiriert von den alten Scheunen der
Region entstand ein Neubau mit auffallend schlichter Silhouette. In Anlehnung an die
archetypische Form eines Kamins zieht sich am gesamten First ein prägnantes Oberlicht
entlang. Das von oben einfallende Tages licht er zeugt im Gebäudeinneren eine unter-
schwellig sakrale Raum ins zenierung, die Ruhe und Zurückgezo genheit ausstrahlt. Ver -
stärkt wird dieser Ein druck durch den homogenen Einsatz von geöltem Eichen holz, das
Boden, Treppe und Wände zu einer optischen Einheit verbindet. Das nur etwa sechs
Meter breite Wohnge bäude konzentriert sich mit seinem Raumprogramm ganz auf die
Lebens ge wohn heiten seiner Bewoh ner und verzichtet auf unnötige Räume oder Flure.
So gibt es neben einer Wohn küche und einem Schlaf zim mer nur noch ei nen Kino-Raum
und einen Wein keller. Eine Split-Level-Orga ni sation generiert dabei — passend zur jewei-
ligen Nut zung — unterschiedliche Raumvolumen von großzügig und offen bis klein und
intim. Um im Weiteren möglichst viel Stauraum zu schaffen, wurden alle hölzernen
Wand verkleidungen als Schrank systeme konzipiert. Deren geschlossene Fronten schaf-
fen Ordnung in den schmalen Räumen und sorgen insbesondere in der Küche durch
Fenster mit keilförmigen Laibungen für vielseitig nutzbare Licht nischen.

T he new residential project by dekleva gregoric architects fits right into the middle
of the rural-traditional development surrounding it. Inspired by the old barns in
the region, a new building with a strikingly simple outline was designed. Derived
from the archetypal chimney, a distinct skylight extends along the whole roof ridge.
Inside the building, daylight penetrating from above produces a subliminally sacral
spatial appearance which emanates quietude and privacy. This impression is rein-
forced by the homogeneous installation of oiled oak which combines the floors, the
stairs and the walls into a visual entity. In the way it is planned, the residential build-
ing measuring only about six metres in width positions the rooms exactly in accor-
dance with the occupants’ living habits and avoids unnecessary spaces or hallways.
Consequently, in addition to a kitchen-cum-living room and a bedroom, there is just
a home-cinema room as well as a wine cellar. Adjusted to the respective use, a split-
level organization thus produces various spatial volumes from generous and open to
small and intimate. To furthermore provide as much storage space as possible, all the
wooden wall coverings were designed to serve as cabinet systems. Their closed fronts
assist in keeping order in the narrow rooms and, particularly in the kitchen, produce
niches of light for various uses thanks to windows with wedge-shaped reveals.
