M it einer neuen Serie von mobilen Leuchten verfolgt Nimbus
kon sequent die Vision kabellosen Lichtes, das jederzeit und
über all verfügbar ist. In schummrigem Dämmerlicht Zeitung lesen
oder mit der Ta schen lampe in den stockfinsteren Keller hinabsteigen –
das ist Schnee von ges tern, denn die tragbaren Leuchten begleiten ih -
ren Nut zer überall dorthin, wo Licht gebraucht wird. Markantes Merk -
mal der Leggera aus der Roxxane-Familie mit dem schlich ten De sign
von Rupert Kopp ist ein Handgriff, der schon dem flüch tigen Be trach -
ter die wesentliche Charakteristik vermittelt. Zum Auf la den kann die
Tisch- und Le se leuchte über ei nen USB-Anschluss oder ei nen magneti -
schen Lade-Puck an das Strom netz gekoppelt werden. Ein hörbares
Kla c ken signa li siert, dass die Ver bin dung geglückt ist, wäh rend die im
Leu ch ten fuß integrierte Ladestands anzeige Auskunft über den Füll -
stand des Akkus gibt. Die Modelle Winglet und Gravity wiederum
erin nern in ih rer flachen Bau weise an Tab lets und zeichnen sich
durch ei nen Knick ent lang der Licht fläche aus. Le dig lich über eine
mag netische Halterung an der Wand beziehungsweise an einem
hauch dünnen Stahlseil befestigt, kön nen die Leuchten zum Aufladen
ein fach abgenommen und an das Strom netz angeschlossen wer den.

W ith a new series of mobile luminaires, Nimbus consistently pur-
sues the vision of cable-free lighting available anytime and
anywhere it is required. Reading the newspaper in a dim light or des-
cending the stairs into the pitch-dark basement with a flashlight – this
is all a thing of the past, since the portable luminaires accompany their
users everywhere light is needed. The striking feature of the Leggera
from the Roxxane product range with the minimalist design by Rupert
Kopp is a handle which, already at first glance, shows the essential
characteristics. For charging it, the table- and reading lamp can be
easily connected to the power grid with a USB port or also by using a
magnetic charging puck. An audible clicking sound indicates that the
connection has been successful while the charge indicator integrated
into the luminaire base provides information about the charging status
of the battery. With their flat construction, the Winglet and Gravity
models both remind of tablet computers and stand out with a crease
along the light surface. Mounted onto the wall with just a magnetic
holder or an extremely thin steel cable, for charging them the luminai-
res can simply be removed and connected to the power grid. Thus
high-quality and need-specific lighting can be produced without
complex electric installation or unattractive cable connections in all
the areas of a building.
