                                                                                    IN VIMERCATE





                                                                                    The 13.10 Ristorante opened last year in a suburb north
                                                                                    of Milan hosted by the municipality of Vimercate. A small
                                                                                    but exquisite boutique restaurant with just 25 seats,
                                                                                    where diners are intended to be tempted in two ways:

                                                                                    restroom area. The plastered walls and ceilings of the rooms, which are
                                                                                    grouped around a small inner courtyard, are bathed in muted shades
                                                                                    of beige, brown, grey and green and thus manage to form a calm base.
                                                                                    The floors and even some of the walls are much wilder: Large-format
                                                                                    porcelain-stoneware tiles in a high-contrast marble look bring a good
                                                                                    dose of dynamism into play here. Meanwhile, the grooved wooden
                                                                                    surfaces of the wall niches, into which upholstered and chequered ben-
                                                                                    ches are fitted, provide tactile vibrancy. The rippled pattern is repea-
                                                                                    ted on the small reception desk in the entrance area. Furniture and
                                                                                    home accessories that have been created by the designer herself can
                                                                                    of course also be found in the restaurant, including the Archie wooden
                                                                                    table by Medulum, the Stilla wall mirror by Potocco, the Mia vase by
                                                                                    Mason Editions, a custom-made carpet by Besana Carpet Lab as well
                                                                                    as the colourful Carnival wallpaper by Wall&decò. By the way, it is no
                                                                                    coincidence that all the components – meaning the colours, the shapes
                                                                                    and the materials – come together to create a harmonious interior at
                                                                                    the 13.10 Ristorante. Serena Confalonieri, who previously made a name
                                                                                    for herself as a graphic- and product designer, had studied interior
                                                                                    architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. With the design of the small
                                                                                    restaurant, which welcomes its guests with a pleasant, homely feel, she
                                                                                    has now made her debut with an entire interior concept. Her eccentric
                                                                                    and refined style transforms the environment and successfully adds an
