A lso wenn Sie uns beauftragen, kann es schon mal Dreck geben“, warnt Heiko Gruber.
Jüngst stellte der Innenarchitekt und Lichtplaner vom planungsbüro i21 gemeinsam mit
Designerin Julika Frank das neue Büro von Emerson Renaldi fertig – von Dreck keine Spur!
Selbst der allgegenwärtige, gedeckte Roséton wirkt hier, im Kontext des Luxusmodehan-
dels, mehr edel als erdig. Julika Frank fügt hinzu: „Die Räume wieder spürbar zu machen,
das ist unsere Passion.“ Ganz offensichtlich spricht das Duo von der Umbauphase, genau-
er gesagt, der Rückbauphase. Nur eine tragende Wand und eine quadratische Stütze – die
nun einen runden Querschnitt besitzt – sind von dem kleinteiligen Versicherungsbüro des
Vormieters erhalten geblieben. Vollverglaste Wandsegmente unterstreichen die neu gewon-
nene Offenheit und sind transparentes Pendant zu den transluzenten, ebenfalls raumho-
hen Vorhängen. Feine Stoffe, luxuriöse Texturen und präzise Schnitte sind Sinnbild für den
Glamour in der Modewelt und die logische Fortsetzung der gehobenen Schneiderware im
darunterliegenden Verkaufsraum. Auch der Schmuck darf natürlich nicht fehlen: Sockel-
leisten, Spiegelrahmen und Leuchtenfassungen aus Messing inszenieren als Accessoires die
Wände und Decke. High Fashion und Innenarchitektur stehen im gegenseitigen Austausch.
„Let me see you stripped“, singen Frank und Gruber schmunzelnd. Weiche Passagen
besitzt der Synth-Rock-Klassiker ja durchaus. Diese sieht man ihrem Entwurf förmlich an.

tect and lighting designer from planungsbüro i21 recently completed the new Emerson
Renaldi office together with designer Julika Frank – but there’s not a trace of dirt! Even
the ubiquitous, muted pink shade looks more sophisticated than earthy in the context
of luxury fashion retail. “Making spaces tangible again, that’s our passion,” adds Frank.
The duo are obviously talking about the conversion phase, or more precisely the dis-
mantling phase. Only one load-bearing wall and a square support – which now has a
round cross-section – have been retained from the previous tenant’s small-scale insuran-
ce office. Fully glazed wall segments emphasise the newfound openness and are a trans-
parent counterpart to the translucent, floor-to-ceiling curtains. Delicate fabrics, luxurious
textures and precise cuts are a symbol of glamour in the fashion world and the logical
continuation of the upmarket tailored clothes in the salesroom below. Of course, jewel-
lery is also a must: Skirting boards, mirror frames and light sockets all made of brass
accessorise the walls and ceiling. High fashion and interior design in mutual exchange
... “Let me see you stripped,” Gruber and Frank sing with a smile. The synth-rock classic
certainly has soft passages. You can literally see this in the design.
