S auer macht lustig! Und fördert den Appetit – wie die Redensart ursprünglich meint.
Wo eignet sich die Zitrone daher besser als Sujet als in dem Raum, in dem in Re-
zepten geblättert und gekocht wird? Noch dazu, wenn es sich um eine kleine Küche han-
delt, der man gemeinhin nur wenig Charme zugesteht und deren Gestaltungspotenzial
schnell erschöpft scheint. Das Gegenteil beweist also nun die Zitrone respektive der Ent-
wurf von Studio Komo in einer Stuttgarter Mietwohnung. Mit einem Rezept, das sich ganz
dem frischen Odeur der gelben Zitrusfrucht hingibt: Die Wände und die Decke der Küche
beschichteten die beiden Innenarchitekten vollständig mit einer Bildtapete – für einen
„Allover-Zitronen-Look“ auf sieben Quadratmetern! „Zuverlässig versetzt sie ihre Bewoh-
ner in entspannte Ferienstimmung und garantiert gute Laune“, versprechen Moritz Köhler
und Rene Rauls. Ergänzt wird dieses heiter-saure Spektakel durch buntes Mobiliar. Die
Türen der Oberschränke wurden mit einem hellen Kastanienfurnier belegt und ein Groß- Grundriss • Floor plan
teil der übrigen Einbauten aus blassrosa gefärbtem Schichtstoff gefertigt. Darunter auch
die Sitznische, die mit ihrer dunkelblauen Polsterung einen weiteren Farbakzent setzt.
Ihre Ausrichtung garantiert den Blick auf die grüne Bepflanzung des Balkons, durch den
sich die Gesamtfläche „der Küche“ im Sommer auf fast 15 Quadratmeter verdoppelt. Das
Gemüse (als Keramik-Accessoire) darf natürlich nicht fehlen. Buon appetito!

S our makes you happy! And it stimulates the appetite – as the saying originally im-
plies. So where is the lemon better suited as a subject than in the room where
people browse through recipes and cook? Especially if it is a small kitchen, which is ge-
nerally considered to have little charm and whose design potential seems to be quickly
exhausted. The lemon, or rather the design by Studio Komo, proves the opposite in a
rented flat in Stuttgart. With a recipe that is completely devoted to the fresh odour of
the yellow citrus fruit: The two interior designers completely coated the walls and ceiling
of the kitchen with a picture wallpaper – to create an “all-over lemon look” on seven
square metres! “It reliably puts its occupants in a relaxed holiday spirit and guarantees
a good mood,” promise Moritz Köhler and Rene Rauls. This cheerful and sour spectacle
is complemented with colourful furniture. The doors of the wall units were covered with
a bright chestnut veneer and most of the other fixtures were made of pale pink lami-
nate. This includes the seating niche, which adds a further colour accent with its dark
blue upholstery. Its alignment guarantees a view of the greenery on the balcony, which
doubles the total area of “the kitchen” to almost 15 square metres in summer. Of course,
the vegetables (as a ceramic accessory) must not be missing. Buon appetito!
