AT LAKE STARNBERG
More structure is hardly possible! With its skeleton-like
concept and transparency, the residence designed by
Beer Bembé Dellinger at Lake Starnberg inevitably re -
minds of Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House in
Illinois/USA. The walls dissolved into external supports,

U nlike the Mies icon of the International Style, however, Haus
M5/2 does not appear to float above its property but is embed-

ded in the site with a cleverly designed garden level. Impressive
59.60 metres long and 7.70 metres wide, the concrete structure pus-
hes among the stock of old trees. On the ground floor, the long wing,
minimalist inside as well as outside, is divided into a residential and

ly ceiling-high and thus make the rooms look spacious. In the guest
