St. Jodern Kellerei in Visperterminen

D er sogenannte Heida-Wein ist allein schon wegen seines Anbau ge bietes im
wahrsten Sinne des Wortes „einsame Spitze“, denn die Reben wachsen auf
1.150 Meter über Null – im höchstgelegenen Anbaugebiet Europas. Die dort ansässige
Kellerei St. Jodern betreibt darum Storytelling wo es nur geht und liefert mit Reblehrpfad,
Degus ta tionen und Keller füh run gen zahlreiche sachliche wie emotionale Argumente für
einen beher zten Weinkauf. Federführend bei dem architektonisch zeitgemäßen Auftritt
der Kellerei waren die Planer von bauAtelier12. Der nagelneue Erweiterungs bau umfasst
einen repräsentativen Erschlie ßungsbereich, zwei Logistik-Etagen und eine fensterlose
Wein la gerungsebene. Letztere verfügt außerdem über einen gro ßen — durch eine filigrane
Glaswand abgetrennten – Gastronomiebereich. Maßvoll mö bliert, an den Wänden mit
funkelnden Glasteilchen bestückt und gänzlich in Greige und Schwarz getaucht, herrscht
hier eine geordnet-moderne und zugleich heimelig-düstere Atmosphäre. Einen gestalteri -
schen Kontra punkt dazu setzt der ebenfalls fensterlose Eichensaal mit seiner geradlini-
gen Gestaltung. In die Längswände integrierte Flascheninstallationen betonen in diesem
deutlich kleineren Gastraum die schmale Raum kubatur und sorgen zusammen mit

The so-called Heida wine is already in the truest sense of the word “at the very top” due
to where it comes from since the vines are growing at an altitude of 1,150 metres above
sea-level – in the highest growing region of Europe. This is why St. Jodern Kellerei located
there is telling the story wherever possible and, with an educational trail through the
vineyard, tastings and guided tours of the cellars, supplies numerous factual as well as
emotional arguments for courageous wine buying. The planners from bauAtelier12 were
in charge of the architectural-contemporary presentation of the winery. The brand-new
extension includes a prestigious access area, two logistics floors and a windowless wine-
storage level. The latter also has a large restaurant area separated with a filigree glass
wall. With low-key furniture, walls decorated with sparkling pieces of glass and comple-
tely immersed in greige and black, the atmosphere is organized and modern while, at the
same time, cosy and dim. A contrast as to design is the equally windowless oak hall with
its linear design. In this smaller dining room, installations of bottles integrated in the lon-
gitudinal sides emphasize the narrow spatial cubature and, together with unpretentious
pendant luminaires, ensure overall pleasant and clear illumination.
