Bauen versus CO2-Ausstoß

Führenden Klimawissenschaftlern zufolge ist die kommende Dekade entscheidend, um
den menschengemachten Klimawandel noch einzudämmen. Damit die Zeit nicht unver-
sehens verrinnt, installierte die Architekten-Initiative Countdown 2030 zur Jahreswende
einen Countdown über dem Eingang des Schweizerischen Architekturmuseums in Basel.

According to leading climate scientists, the upcoming decade will be decisive for still
curbing the man-made climate change. To avoid time elapsing without noticing it, at
the turn of the year the Countdown 2030 initiative of architects installed an eye-cat-
ching countdown above the entrance of the Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel.

„Plateforme 10“ heißt das neue Museumsquartier unweit des Hauptbahnhofs in Lau-
sanne. Mit dem minimalistisch-markanten Musée cantonal des Beaux Arts (MCBA) von

tion. With the minimalist-striking Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts (MCBA) designed by
Barozzi Veiga, the first of three exhibition buildings was now opened on the former
Swiss Railway depot site. In 2021, the Musée de l´Elysée and the Mudac will follow.

Das historische Ofenhaus des Augsburger Gaswerks versorgt die Stadt längst nicht
mehr mit Heizenergie. Stattdessen ließen die Stadtwerke den Komplex zu einem voll
funktionstüchtigen Veranstaltungsort mit Theaterbühne, Werkstätten, Gastronomie und
Büros umbauen, der planmäßig als Außenstelle des Augsburger Staatstheaters genutzt
wird. Das für die Umnutzung verantwortliche Büro Kolb erhielt trotz akustischer, ther-
mischer und brandschutztechnischer Ertüchtigung den Charakter des Industriebaus
und ergänzte diesen durch einen offensiv wertigen Innenausbau mit Messing, Holz,
Samt und handgearbeiteten Fliesen sowie einer raumgreifenden Deckeninstallation.

For a long time already, the historic oven building of the Augsburg gasworks has no
longer been supplying the city with heat energy. Instead, the Stadtwerke had the
complex converted into an event venue with a theatre stage, workshops, restaurants
and offices now used as a branch of the state theatre. Despite the acoustic, thermal
and fire-protection upgrading, the Büro Kolb office in preserved the character of the
industrial building and complemented it with high-quality interior design brass,
