PARAH STORE
IN VERONA
Entwurf • Design Foro Studio, IT-Mailand
von • by Christine Schröder
Q uality, stylishness and female elegance, this is what the Parah label for lingerie
and swimwear has been standing for since the 1950s. The products have always
been designed, manufactured and marketed in Italy. To find a consistent language for
the company boutiques, creative minds from the Milan Foro Studio have now come
aboard. The team of architects, interior architects and designers promises a multi-lay-
ered approach to develop a built identity. And the first result is worth seeing: In an elon-
gated store in the historic centre of Verona, a sensuously beautiful shopping venue has
been created against the backdrop of historic quarry-stone walls. To achieve this, the
designers went for effective contrasts of old and new, warm and cold materials.
Upholstered wall sections covered with fabric resembling suede are thus contrasted
with three counters covered with Silipol. The material consisting of granite, porphyry
and marble takes up the colour concept of soft shades of pink and grey. Filigree furni-
ture for goods presentation, translucent materials and indirect lighting complement the
custom-made overall concept. With their idea, the designers achieved an intimate
atmosphere matching the range of products where the senses are being addressed and,
in the end, the display of the products is nevertheless subtly put in the foreground.
