MESSESTAND PISTENBULLY
IN INNSBRUCK
Entwurf • Design sons, Kempten
von • by Henriette Sofia Steuer
berg kammartigen Banklehnen zurückgezogene Be spre chungs- oder Pau sen berei che an.
W ith about 23,000 professional visitors and 650 exhibitors, Interalpin is the
world’s leading trade fair for alpine technologies. As market leader for slope
and cross-country ski-trail maintenance, the Käsbohrer Company represented its
PistenBully brand on a floor area of 1,000 square metres this year. Referring to the
snowy working environment of the vehicles, the designers of sons used polygonal
ramps and cubic volumes to transfer the winter landscape into a trend-conscious trade
fair appearance, which presented the Bullys weighing tons in a dynamic and simulta-
neously emotionally charged way. From the central reception counter, a system of
stairs and footbridges made it possible for all visitors to view the vehicles from all
directions. The white architecture of the stand marked the exhibition and circulation
areas, while zones of direct communication between potential customers and the com-
pany, for example in the shop or the high table area, were clad with wood. The hos-
pitality room on the upper level took up the motif of ski hut cosiness, and high, moun-
tain ridge-like backrests of the benches provided secluded meeting or break areas. The
planners at sons always adhered to a formally reduced design of all areas and gave
the partly towering Bullys an exciting effectiveness, which made them the protagonists
of the trade fair appearance also from a visual point of view.
