Das ehemalige Wohnzimmer im Erdgeschoss der Villa wird heute als Salon und Bibliothek genutzt. • The former living room on the ground floor of the villa is now used as a parlour and library.

Im Sommer begleitete Dr. Uwe Bresan Architekturstudenten der
Universität Stuttgart (Foto) zu einem Schreibseminar in die Villa Gar-
bald im schweizerischen Castasegna. Die Anlage entstand in den
1860er- Jahren nach Plänen von Gottfried Semper (1803–1879). Seit
ihrer Sanier ung und Erweiterung durch das Basler Architekturbüro
Miller & Maranta dient sie als Studien- und Seminarzentrum. Unser
Kollege hat den Aufenthalt genutzt, um sich mit der Geschichte und
der Architektur des neu-alten Ensembles auseinanderzusetzen.

This summer, Dr. Uwe Bresan accompanied architecture students
from the University of Stuttgart (photo) to a writing seminar taking
place at Villa Garbald in Castasegna, Switzerland. The complex
was built in the 1860s according to plans by Gottfried Semper
(1803-1879). Since its renovation and expansion by the Basel-

and architecture of the ensemble of the new and the old.
