Am Südstrand auf Fehmarn steht eines der jüngsten Werke das däni-
schen Ausnahmearchitekten und Designers Arne Jacobsen. Der Bau
des Ostseeheilbades jährt sich 2018 zum 50. Mal. Die Anlage ist um -
stritten. Dabei ist die Architektur von Jacobsen und Otto Weitling trotz
Umbauten und Amputationen fein, detailliert und luftig. Als Gesamt -
kunstwerk ist es jedoch erheblich bedroht. Der Architektur jour na list
Hendrik Bohle hat in einem der Hotelhochhäuser eingecheckt, um sich

Near south beach of Fehmarn stands one of the latest works by the
exceptional Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. The con-
struction of the Baltic health spa celebrates its 50th anniversary in
2018. The facility disputed. Yet, despite the conversions and “amputa-
tions”, the architecture by Jacobsen and Otto Weitling is still fine, rich
in details and airy. As a total artwork, it is substantially endangered.
