Durch das Schattendach entsteht ein neuer Außenraum, der die bestehenden Schlafsäle zu einer Einheit verbindet. • The shade roof creates a new exterior space that connects the existing dormitories to form one unit.
Unter Projektleitung von Sarah Pallischeck reisten 13 Bachelorstudie-
rende der TH Köln zum Omomas Care Center, einem Heim für Wai-
sen- und Straßenkinder in Namibia. Ziel der Exkursion war es – auf
Basis eines Wahlmoduls – den gemeinschaftlich erarbeiteten Entwurf
eines Schattendaches vor Ort umzusetzen. Realisiert wurde das Pro-
jekt durch die finanzielle Unterstützung der Stiftung für Kunst und
Baukultur – Britta und Ulrich Findeisen. Eva Maria Thümling berichtet
über den Entwurfsprozess und die vor Ort gewonnenen Erfahrungen.
Under the project management of Sarah Pallischeck, 13 bachelor
students of TH Köln travelled to the Omomas Care Center, a home
for orphans and street children in Namibia. The aim of the excur-
sion was–on the basis of an elective module–to implement the
jointly developed design of a shadow roof on site. The project was
realised with the financial support of the Foundation for Art and
Building Culture – Britta and Ulrich Findeisen. Eva Maria Thümling
reports on the design process and the experiences on site.
