I n Altenholz bei Kiel eröffnete kürzlich das neue Leistungszentrum des THW Kiel. Mit
dem 16 Millionen Euro teuren Neubau finden Bundesligaspieler und Nachwuchs-
handballer des deutschen Rekordmeisters und Rekordpokalsiegers in Zukunft alle wich-
tigen Anlaufstellen rund um Training, Physiotherapie und Kraftsport unter einem Dach.
Innenarchitektin Imke Stüvens Wahl fiel überwiegend auf homogene und monochrome
Bodenbeläge von Gerflor. In der Trainingshalle, die zwei vollwertige Spielfelder sowie
eine Laufbahn umfasst, fand der punktelastische Indoor-Sportboden Taraflex, im Hotel
die Vinyl-Bahnware Mipolam Esprit und im Restaurant die PVC-Bodenfliese Creation 70
in Holzoptik Anwendung. Die ausdrucksstarken Farben bilden eine Choreographie mit
der reduzierten Formensprache des Interieurs und entfalten in der großräumigen Archi-
tektur eine ausdrucksvolle Wirkung. Besonderer Eyecatcher sind die in die Bodenflächen
integrierten grafischen Folierungen im Hotelkomplex – diese dienen als unkonventionel-

In the new 16 million euro building, the Bundesliga players and the junior hand-
ball players of the German record champion and record cup winner will find all the
important contact points as to training, physiotherapy and weight training. Interior
architect Imke Stüvens chose mainly homogeneous and monochrome flooring by Ger-
flor. In the training hall point-elastic Taraflex indoor sports flooring was installed, in
the hotel Mipolam Esprit vinyl metre goods and in the restaurant Creation 70 PVC
floor tiles in wood look. The expressive colours produce a choreography with the re-
duced design vocabulary and have a strong effect. Special eyecatchers are the graphic
foils integrated in the floors of the hotel complex – they serve as an unconventional
