Nendo versus M.C. Escher

Auch der japanische Architekt und Designer Oki Sato alias Nendo hat sich mit M.C.
Escher auseinandergesetzt. Bis 17. April zeigt die National Gallery of Victoria im australi-
schen Melbourne das Ergebnis dieses Dialogs: escher x nendo | between two worlds.
Nendo hat 160 Drucke und Zeichnungen Eschers in seine Installation eingebunden, in der
ein schematisches Haus immer wieder überraschend und ganz unterschiedlich dargestellt
auftaucht. Und seit 13. Januar ist es offiziell: Nendo ist AW-Designer des Jahres 2019! Am
Vorabend der imm cologne wurde die Auszeichnung im Rahmen der Wonderglass-
Ausstellung „Melt“ (Foto rechts) im Hotel 25hours „The Circle“ übergeben.

The Japanese architect and designer Oki Sato alias Nendo also focused on M.C. Escher.
Until 17th April, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne will show the result of this
dialogue: “escher x nendo | between two worlds”. Nendo incorporated 160 prints and

completely different ways. And, since 13th January, it has been made official: Nendo is the
A&W Designer of the year 2019! On the eve of the imm cologne international furniture fair,
the award was given in a festive event held at the 25hours Hotel The Circle (photo right).
