Der New Yorker Chelsea-Markt gilt als Bindeglied der Stadtviertel Manhattans mit dem
Hudson River sowie als bekannte Anlaufstelle internationaler Gastronomie. Im 6.000
Quadratmeter großen Keller des jahrhundertealten Backsteingebäudes eröffnete die Des -
tination Artechouse nun neue Räume für künstlerisch innovative Darstellungen von
Schnittstellen zwischen Kunst, Wissenschaft und Technologie. Den Auftakt liefert Refik
Anadol mit seiner Ausstellung „Machine Hallucination“. Synästhetisch hinterfragt der
Künstler die konventionelle Definition des Raumes und gibt über den Aspekt des eigen-
ständigen Lernens von Maschinen faszinierende Einblicke in die Zukunft der Architektur.
The New York Chelsea market links the Manhattan district with the Hudson River and
is also a well-known port of call for international gastronomy. In the 6,000 square-
metre basement of the centuries old brick building, Destination Artechouse has now
opened new spaces for the artistic, innovative representation of interfaces of art, sci-
ence and technology. Refik Anadol starts with his exhibition Machine Hallucination.
The artist questions the definition of space and provides fascinating insights into the
future of architecture under the aspect of the independent learning of machines.
