Umsonst und draußen auf Paxos

Mit der wilden Schönheit der kleinen Insel Paxos vor der Westküste Griechen lands haben
sich – auf Einladung der Initiatorin des Paxos Contemporary Art Project Marina Tomacelli
und des Kuratoren-Duos Leonid Keller – acht zeitgenössische Künstler auseinanderge-
setzt. Die frei zugänglichen Werke sind noch bis 9. September zu erleben. Darunter auch
die Rauminstallation „Kagkatikas Secret“, mit der das deutsche Künstler-Duo Quint -
essenz eine 400 Jahre alte Ruine zu neuem Leben erweckt: Bunte, sich überlagernde
Bahnen aus Streckmetall tanzen im Sonnenlicht mit dem Wind und erzeugen immer
neue Eindrücke vor der atemberaubenden Kulisse des Ionischen Meeres.

Upon the invitation of the initiator of the Paxos Contemporary Art Project, Marina Toma -
celli Filomarino, and the duo of curators Leonid Keller, eight contemporary artists focu-
sed on the wild beauty of the island of Paxos off the west coast of Greece. The works can
be experienced until 9th September. Among them is the “Kagkatikas Secret” room instal-
lation with which the German duo of artists Quintessenz revives a 400-year-old ruin:
Colourful, overlapping lengths of expanded metal dance with the wind in the sunlight
and produce ever new impressions against the breath-taking backdrop of the Ionian Sea. Fotos: Quintessenz
