D ie angesagte, in einer ehemaligen Fabrik gelegene Prager Szene-Location Vnitro-
block ist ein Mix aus Design-, Mode-, Kunst-, Kaffee-, Restaurant- und Kinokultur.
In diesem Areal hat sich auch Marslab mit seinem „Foyer“ genannten Coworking Space
und Showroom für Möbel-, Leuchten und Objektdesign niedergelassen. Der Standort
wird außerdem als Fotostudio und Event Location genutzt. Die Marslab-Gründer Mar-
tin Šenberger und Romana Štefanová haben beide Architektur studiert. Gemeinsam
mit ihren PartnerInnen betreiben sie das Büro mar.s architects. Foyer war demnach ein
Auftrag in eigener Sache. Die BauherrInnen und ArchitektInnen in Personalunion haben
sich mit Foyer auf 120 Quadratmetern eine inspirierende Coworking- und Showroom-
Welt geschaffen. Das Backsteingebäude brachte durch seinen industriellen Charme viel
Potenzial für Atmosphäre mit, denn der Rohbaucharakter aus nacktem Ziegel, Beton und
Estrich bildet nun den perfekten Rahmen für die kuratierte Auswahl an zeitgenössischem
Design, das von tschechischen und kleineren europäischen Labels stammt. Highlight des
Showroom-Bereichs sei die von Jiri Krejcirik entworfene Hängeleuchte über dem lan-
gen Besprechungstisch, so Marslab. Vasen und Kunstwerke tschechischer KünstlerInnen
unterstreichen den persönlichen Charakter der Räume. mar.s architects glauben an die
„transformative Kraft von Design“ – Foyer ist eine Referenz dafür.
T he trendy Vnitro block location in Prague, located in a former factory, is a mix of
design, fashion, art, coffee, restaurant and cinematic culture. Marslab has also set
up shop in this area with its Foyer co-working space and showroom for furniture-, lumi-
naires- and object design. The site is also used as a photo studio and an event location.
Marslab founders Martin Šenberger and Romana Štefanová both studied architecture.
Together with their partners, they run the office mar.s architects. Foyer was therefore a
commission on their own behalf. The clients and architects have designed an inspiring
120 square-metre coworking- and showroom world with Foyer. With its industrial charm,
the brick building brought a lot of potential for atmosphere, as the shell character of
bare brick, concrete and screed now forms the perfect setting for the curated selection
of contemporary design from Czech and smaller European labels. According to Marslab,
the highlight of the showroom area is the pendant luminaire designed by Jiri Krejcirik
above the long conference table by Viccarbe surrounded by comfortable chairs from
the long-standing Italian manufacturer Armet. Vases and works of art by Czech artists
emphasize the personal character of the rooms. mar.s architects believe in the “transfor-
mative power of design” – Foyer is a reference for this.
