NETLIGHT CONSULTING
IN HAMBURG
The life-size Netlight horse decorates every location of
the agile company founded in Sweden in 1999. It
stands for the symbiosis of horse and rider and is to re-
flect the relationship of Netlight consultant and client.
For the new Hamburg location, on 700 square metres
Seel Bobsin Partner have designed an inspiring place
for collective knowledge transfer.
T he Trostbrücke 1 address in Hamburg is definitely prominent and
suitable for communicating traditional Hanseatic virtues such as
reliability, decency and fairness. That the new location of Netlight is
on the top floor of the Laeiszhof office building which was constructed
in 1898 thus perfectly fits into the concept of the Europe-wide acting,
value-oriented IT company with the focus on consulting services in
technical implementation and in IT management. The company cul-
ture is based on extensive knowledge transfer and the passion of lear-
ning from each other – all this without any hierarchic intermediate le-
vels but by everyone naturally taking it for granted that all the em-
ployees in the company are equal. The planning task for Seel Bobsin
Partner consisted in creating on the about 700 square-metre newly de-
veloped top-floor area a place of encounter and exchange in order to
promote the culture of the company and to spatially represent.
Knowledge transfer is to take place at joint breakfasts, lunches, in
conferences, on large stages, in offices, on the phone, in online chat
boxes, over dinners or at parties. Whereas, in the whole building, the
impressive opulence of the Hanoverian school of architecture can still
be experienced, the goal was to highlight the detailed architecture of
the formerly unused top floor by the targeted application extensive co-
lour accents. Specific building structures are emphasized with strong
contrasts and the wall colours accentuate the individually designed
interiors. Some of the furniture stands out with its minimalist but stri-
king geometrical shape: Simple basic forms – circle, square, triangle –
are repeated design elements. Harmonious colour combinations pro-
duce a stimulating atmosphere which deliberately differs from the
classic office ambience. The furnishing is completely designed for the
agile kind of working which is a must in the company so that there
are numerous work zones which can be flexibly configured and
quickly adapted to the respective tasks at the time. The rooms are
able to “breathe” according to needs and to change, and they also
