D as ist doch das mit den orangefarbenen Rohrleitungen! – Genau! Das Field-Na-
tion-Büro in Minneapolis hat einen eindeutigen Wiedererkennungseffekt. Und
dieser ist nicht (nur) formaler Natur, sondern spiegelt das Geschäftsmodell der Busi-
ness Plattform wider: Das Online-Job-Portal will effizient und schnell ideale Koope-
rationen zwischen Dienstleistern und Kunden sicherstellen. Auf Vernetzung basiert
deshalb auch das innenarchitektonische Konzept. Linear, an Fluren entlang, dienen
die signalfarbenen Rohre als „Pfadfinder“. In Zonen für Teamwork und Begegnung
bündeln, verzweigen und überlagern sie sich, gliedern den Grundriss und fungieren
als Raumteiler. Analog zu den Schaltplänen von Platinen entwarf Studio BV dieses
System, das Energie in Form von Strom dorthin bringt, wo sie benötigt wird, zum
Beispiel zu Decken- und Wandleuchten. Das Prinzip der offen geführten Rohre – in
Zeiten der Unter-Putz-Verlegung eigentlich anachronistisch – ist bei Field Nation ein
bewusst gewähltes Funktions- und Gestaltungsprinzip. Die Geschossfläche mit mehr
als 3.500 Quadratmetern realisierte Studio BV als flexibles, adaptierbares Großraum-
büro mit verschiedensten Arbeitsplatzkonstellationen. Im Hell-Dunkel-Kontrast von
Decken und Wänden setzt Orange – die Field-Nation-Logo-Farbe – einen kräftigen
Akzent. Und die Rohre vermitteln unmissverständlich: Alles gut vernetzt!

I sn’t that the one with the orange conduits? – Exactly! The Field Nation office in
Minneapolis has unique recognition value. And this is not (only) of a formal na-
ture but also reflects the business model of the platform: The online job portal
wants to efficiently and quickly ensure ideal cooperation of service providers and
clients. The concept of interior design is thus also based on connectivity. Linearly,
along the hallways, the bright conduits serve as “pathfinders”. In the zones for
teamwork and meetings, they are bundled, branch and overlap, structure the lay-
out and work as partitions. In analogy to conduit boards Studio BV designed this
system which brings energy in the form of electricity to where it is needed, for in-
stance to ceiling- and wall luminaires. The principle of the visible conduits – actu-
ally anachronistic in time of concealed installation – is a deliberately chosen
function- and design principle at Field Nation. Studio BV designed the floor areas
with more than 3,500 square metres as a flexible, adaptable open space with a
wide variety of workstation constellations. In the bright-dark contrast of the cei-
lings and the walls, orange – the colour of the Field Nation logo – adds strong ac-
cents. And the conduits clearly communicate: Everything is well connected!
