Crasset seine Schwächen. So bleibt es – trotz der endlosen Weite des Atlantiks – ein sehr
begrenzter Meerblick, den das starr ausgerichtete Mobiliar gestattet. Generell lässt die
statische Einrichtung den Innenraum geradezu undynamisch wirken, woran auch seine
Farbigkeit nichts zu ändern vermag. Vergebens sucht man die Varianz und Bewegung im
Außenraum ... und das Tauwerk, zum Losbinden der vermeintlichen Fähre. sf

D o you need a place to sit, stand or sleep? Just like on a passenger ferry, an ori-
ginal, 30-centimetre-high wooden platform with furniture add-ons provides a
view of the ocean. Refreshingly unconventional! And yet this playful design by Matali
Crasset definitely has its shortcomings. For example, despite the endless expanse of
the Atlantic Ocean, the rigidly aligned furniture only affords a very limited view of

something that even its colourfulness cannot change. One looks in vain for variance
and movement in the exterior ... and the rigging to untie the supposed ferry.
