S chaumparty in Pastell! Für ihre Projektpremiere, die neugestalteten Verkaufs- und
Studioräume eines schwedischen Haarpflege-Labels, ließen Madeleine Klingspor
und Polina Sandström das Shampoo von der Decke tropfen. Mit einem seifig-lieblichen
Programm frischten die beiden Gründungspartnerinnen von ASKA ein Stockholmer
Stadthaus aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert auf. Als effektvoller Opener dienen wellen-
förmig ausgeschnittene Acrylglasplatten, die im Eingangsbereich gestaffelt von der Decke
hängen. Hiernach sind die auf 650 Quadratmeter und mehrere Stockwerke verteilten
Salons mit hybriden Arbeits-, Verkaufs- und Behandlungsbereichen in milde, der Mar-
kenwelt entsprechende Farben getaucht. Auf und ab mäandernde, farblich abgestufte
Paneele sorgen für eine abwechslungsreiche Produktpräsentation. Das ist süß genug, um
in Erinnerung zu bleiben, und lässt den zuvor sorgsam renovierten Altbauelementen
noch ausreichend Wirkungsraum. 2020 gründeten die zwei jungen Absolventinnen der
Königlich Technischen Hochschule Stockholm und der Parsons School of Design New
York ihr Zwei-Frau-Büro. Unter dem Namen ASKA – zu Deutsch: „Asche“ – möchten sie
dem einst gelernten gestalterischen Grundsatz treubleiben und jedes Projekt auf ledig-
lich eine essenzielle Kernaussage herunterbrennen, die dann das klare Leitmotiv des Ge-
samtlayouts sein soll. Beim Thema Seife ist das ja schonmal recht sauber gelaufen.

S oapy foam party in pastel shades! For their project premiere, the redesigned sales
and studio space of a Swedish hair care label, Madeleine Klingspor and Polina Sand-
ström seem to let shampoo drip from the ceiling. The two founding partners of ASKA fres-
th
hened up an early 20 -century townhouse in Stockholm with a soapy-sweet concept.
Wave-shaped acrylic glass panels, which are suspended from the ceiling in a staggered
formation in the entrance area, serve as an effective welcome. After this, the beauty salon
with hybrid work, sales and treatment areas, which extend over 650 square metres and
several floors, is bathed in gentle colours in keeping with the brand world. Colour-graded
panels that meander up and down ensure a varied product display. It’s sweet enough to
be memorable, and still leaves ample room for the previously carefully renovated old
building elements to take effect. In 2020, the two young graduates of the KTH Royal In-
stitute of Technology in Stockholm and the Parsons School of Design in New York foun-
ded their two-woman office. Under the name ASKA – meaning “ashes” in English – they
want to remain true to the design principle they once learned and distil each project
down to just one essential core statement, which should then be the clear leitmotif of
the overall layout. The soap theme has already worked out quite well.
